I have just started up a new Facebook series over on my public page. It is called Badass Viking Women and will delve into some of the most badass women of the Viking Age.
It comes as no surprise that the first Viking lady I cover is Lagertha, a famous shieldmaiden that fought alongside Ragnar Lodbrok.
Lagertha was a noblewoman who was forced into a life in a brothel through no fault of her own. Instead, men fighting over who should be king were responsible.
Not willing for this to be her final story, Lagertha and the women rise up against their captivity, and Ragnar can’t help but fall in love with the feisty woman.
This new Facebook series will cover a variety of Viking Age women — from those that I have already covered in my books, to those that are hardly recognised or not often discovered by those outside of the sagas.
I plan to drop a new character twice a month so make sure that you like my Facebook page and keep an eye out for each new instalment.
