Help Me Pick a New Cover Design For Metanoia!

Okay guys, I need some help. Currently my newest novel, Metanoia, has the following cover:

Metanoia by Rachel Tsoumbakos Cover (genre: horror/zombie apocalypse)

This was never meant to be the final cover for my novel but merely a bookmark design to use as a prompt while I was writing the novel. Now, this is where I need your help. Below I have four new concept covers that I want your opinion on. Please read the blurb for Metanoia below and then pick which cover design you like the most. Your help in this matter is most appreciated. 😀

Please be aware these are concept designs, they are not the final covers. So, if you like a cover but don’t like the font then (for example), by all means, let me know in the comments below.

To make it just that little bit more exciting, I will be picking one person at random from the comments below who will get their own eBook copy of Metanoia with the new cover design.

Blurb

METANOIA
Definition: n. a spiritual conversion or awakening; a fundamental change of character
Etymology: Greek ‘change one’s mind, repent’

Marli Anderson has just one task: assassinate Oscar La Monde, the man she once loved.

As assassin for hire for the prestigious Merrick’s Inc., she is sent back to her home town to kill the man she now loathes beyond all others—her husband. Considering they are on opposing sides of the uprising, Marli anticipates an easy task; ‘closure’ they call it. The fact that she can exact her revenge for his past discretions is just the icing on the cake.

When she arrives, the town has changed. The man she hated is unexpectedly welcoming. And the town’s folk—well, they’re just… different. Someone or something has transformed them all into a bunch of zombies. They appear to be harmless – but are they?

As she begins to uncover details of who may be behind the townsfolk’s’ metamorphosis, Marli is left fighting for the truth. Will she and Oscar be able to unravel the web of deception before it’s too late?

Should she trust her heart or her head? Which is less likely to get her killed?

Either way, METANOIA is a heart-stopping zombie apocalypse adventure that will keep you guessing at every twist and turn until the very end.

  1. Book cover number 1 is my pick. 🙂

  2. Pheebz Petenstine says:

I really like the original cover best.

  3. Vera Komnig says:

Is this a book for teens ?? Then all the new covers are equally suitable, only the font I do not find that great either. However, if adults are the target audience, I would think the new cover again and select another photo opportunity.

The font I think in any case, regardless of the target audience far too sweet and squiggly for the content of the book.

Overall I would also recommend the original cover, but like most of the other, “staid” font.

    Warm greetings from Vera 🙂

If I can’t choose the original then I like the 3rd one the best. The font for the title may be too pristine and it’s a bit hard to read your name, but the gritty picture and her multi colored hair fit well with the character and story. I’m still reading this so I’m not sure if something further in the book might be represented in these choices.

Thanks so much for your thoughts! 😀

  7. Definitely #6 is my pick. I love the others (and think you should save them for other books!) but only 6 gives the feeling of dread and horror your novel serves up. Love it!
