Well, here it is – the very first promo pic of AMC’s The Walking Dead Season 5!

And what a beauty it is.

It appears we have Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) coming out of the shipping container we saw him locked up in when Season 4 concluded earlier this year.

So, why is he leaving it? Is it an escape? Is he being led out by the Terminus crew? Or is Rick about to become BBQ?

Judging by the last seen images of Rick at the end of Season 4, there seems to be a similar blood smear:

Andrew Lincoln stars as Rick Grimes in AMC's The Walking Dead Season 4

Similar, but not identical.

He’s missing the blood spot in the middle of his forehead and in Season 5, the smear seems to go further up his temple. So is it even the same timeframe? Could it be further on in Season 5 that we see Rick freed from his new prison?

Possibly, but that blood is still fresh. So if it is later in the season – what the hell has just gone down in that shipping container???

Let me know you theories in the comments below!

  1. We know he’s not getting eaten, so we can put that way. I’ve read that people living around the Terminus set say they’re heard a lot of screaming from inside the building during filming, so who knows what’s going on. Also, Tuesday night I spoke with a friend who lives in Atlanta, and she says she’s been stumbling across a *LOT* of areas closed off for filming. So it looks like the production crew has been busy.

See, this is the stuff I LOVE to hear! Thanks for sharing Cassidy 😀 Honestly, though, I think this image will occur in the very first ep and it’s just a matter of blood spatter not lining up correctly after the hiatis 😉

      • It’s something that’s going to happen right away. They’re not going to keep everyone in the box car for two episodes. Oh, and the latest issue of the comic came out, and they jumped ahead two years from the “All Out War” issues. Sounds like a lot of things are changing in that world.

Oh, I really must get back to reading the comics again! And, you’re right, it’d get pretty boring pretty quickly being stuck in a shipping container 😉 Although, they might spend an ep on Carol’s group and then another on Beyh, that could easily drag us out to ep 3 😉

      • I think Carol and Ty will show bearing flowers and hammers– 🙂 I don’t think either of them will be in a mood to take crap.

Hahahaha! Now THAT I want to see! 😀

The suspense is killing me. Walking dead anxiety needs to be classified as a real and serious disorder!!
